Reduce the number of lines you purchase from the local telephone company but not the ability of your customers to contact you. The diagram below illustrates that with only one line you can receive more than one call. A single incoming line to the business is call forwarded if busy or no answer to the ITS switch which manages the call based on the desired level of service. Therefore, a business may choose to maintain a minimum number of lines with the local telco, yet still receive multiple incoming calls. Also, this does not inhibit outbound calling. Multiple outbound calls may also be placed when there is only a single incoming line.
